COVID-19 has now been with us for over 5-months now, and it looks like it will be with us for some time to come. As a result, high levels of stress and fear have become a way of life for many of us. While people react differently to stressful circumstances, there are ways to reduce the harmful results of stress such as concentrating more on the parts of our lives which we can control. Starting with your physical well-being, do all you can to minimize your exposure to the virus and keep yourself in the best physical condition possible. Physical activity reduces stress.

The effects of stress from COVID-19 bring change to life. Ordinary issues or just concentrating may be more difficult. Remember to take breaks from all the news stories and social media reporting on the virus because it can be overwhelming and only increases the stress you're already feeling. Make time to relax and stay in contact with friends and family by phone, video, or texting. Maintaining positive mental health is important throughout our lives, but especially during difficult times like we are experiencing today.
